A prodded note on focus stacking!
So, everyone should know that when taking a picture of anything you always have to keep in mind your intended 'depth of focus' by adjusting the aperture. Sometimes though even if you crank it up to f/26 or more, you don't get the depth you need. In this case you can try out a software made for stacking 'focuses' "CombineZM" , sort of analogous to an HDR image in that it's a stack of exposures.
You need a tripod, and preferably a remote. Fix camera on tripod, set focus to manual... and focus on the closest point in your scenery. What you want to do after that is slightly twist that focus ring going from closest object in focus to farthest and snap a shot at each new focal plane. Of course it helps to have an f/stop of 8-15 if conditions allow so you don't have to take really tiny focal increments.
In the end you end up with a bunch of pictures, slap them into CombineZM and off you go!

Lalalaaaa, I want to update this.

Another Monday gone.
These last few days have turned into some sort of a mushy semi-zombie state for me. Wake up, work, eat Chinese/Cane's, work, clean Mexican house, swim, sleep.
Sure - I had a few blasts here and there like the fishing, or meeting up with friends, but the whole experience is not as fun right now as it seems it should be. I think this is due, mostly, to the fact of my expectation of things - which was a 'temporary' two week work/play-around/escape-house-smoochers type thing. This though has turned into a droning month-long (it seems like) inconvenient stay.
There's no doubt that working here at the office, eating lunch, communicating with people is fun and awesome. But the whole feeling I get from everything is that I'm invading someone, or inconveniencing someone in any direction I turn - in this case I do hope that the 'temporary' won't last much longer.
Whatever 'home' is - this , here, is not it....which makes me think that I am very.... 'proprietary' with things - stuff must be mine for me to feel, comfortable and homey. (Maybe this is due to the fact that a lot of things that I "own" are communal property). A good example of this would be :
If Jude , trying to be funny (and retarded) broke my new video card tomorrow, I'd probably punch him in the face. But I would not want him to buy me a replacement - because that would no longer be mine.... I don't know if this make sense to anyone. This is also to not be confused with a 'gift' - a gift is a gift, it has no means and is an end in itself with no expectations or hidden messages (at leas that's what one should be).
On a completely off-the wall direction here and just because it popped into my head, I just want to say that when I say "No", or "I don't want to". It means exactly what I say, and it definitely doesn't mean "ask me again" or "talk me into saying 'yes'".
It is now Tuesday, making this a finished entry. I sat down to write an entry not thinking I'd have stuff to write about, but I kept thinking of things so fast that I couldn't get them into a coherent stream of connected thoughts - thus the topic jumps. Oh well.

So I went to feed this morning, and it takes whole 5 minutes ... if that. I jog 300 yards I put 4 scoops of food, I jog back. Upon my return, Guinness somehow found a roll of toilet paper and managed to get the entire thing unrolls and torn into pieces all over the yard. (record time)
While Dima's away , Guinness will play.
Ashley's old phone sucks, I hates it.
PS. Old phone, as in, she has a new one and I hate the old one that is here. (Not her old - aged - current phone). And the reason I hate it is because it lives to make my life miserable. It's on the OFF , but it does turn ON at 5:47 or whatever with an annoying alarm.....

I had to take out a lot of trash today. Mostly boxes (from moving) and beer bottles. Since we live on the 'farm', I guess we have to put the trash out by where they do - which is like a 2 minute walk... with trash! So I had make 6 or 7 trips with various boxes/bags - quite a workout!
At the end of this, to my displeasure, I found a tick on my ankle! I didn't even feel it... which is the scary part.
Then I made some Joe and went to go feed the horses. Here are some pics.
During my trash taking-out I thought I had heard ducks in the pond, so after feeding I went to investimagate. There were no ducks in the pond but I did see 5 fly over the pond. I took some more pics.
I also stole Ashley's monitor while she's away to test out how my computer will look with two.... of course I planned to get another 22" w/s of the exactly same kind as I have... but this gives me a rough idea of what it'll be like :) and I like it.
